Shani O'Neal - Our very own Shani Jamila O'Neal is featured in the May 2005 Issue of Essence Magazine (pg. 201). The story features "35 of Our Most Beautiful Women" where "beauty is as beauty does." Here is the profile given of Shani:

"SHANI JAMILA
SCHOLAR

She has traveled to more than 25 countries, volunteering in Central Africa, developing a poetry collective in Trinidad, and studying human rights in France. She is also the recipient of an esteemed Fulbright Fellowship. A graduate of Spelman College with a master's in Africana Cultural Studies from UCLA, Jamila, 29, lectures at schools such as Howard University and gives speeches to organizations like the UN Commission on Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland. She also puts her ideas on paper in such publications as The Encyclopedia of Sociology and Sometimes Rhythym, Sometimes Blues."
